Job summary

NEP Group Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Guarantee-level Audio Engineer to take ownership of audio delivery on major live broadcasts.

You will lead technical delivery on OB trucks, flypacks, and remote productions, ensuring systems are prepared and configured to the highest standards. Ideal candidates will have broad OB experience, strong knowledge of broadcast audio workflows, and hands-on experience with major consoles.

Qualifications

• Experience as Audio Engineer in outside broadcast or live production.
• Strong understanding of broadcast audio workflows and signal flow.
• Experience with broadcast audio consoles and routing systems.
• Proven ability to fault-find and troubleshoot under live production pressures.
• Knowledge of audio networking technologies such as Dante, AES67, or ST 2110.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative approach and willingness to support others.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead audio engineer on assigned outside broadcasts and live productions.
• Prepare, configure, test, and operate broadcast audio systems across OB trucks, flypacks, and remote production environments.
• Manage audio infrastructure including consoles, stageboxes, routing systems, communications, monitoring, and audio networking platforms.
• Support production teams to deliver high‑quality audio solutions that meet client and editorial requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively during live broadcasts.
• Work closely with Vision, VT, Camera, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure seamless delivery.
• Contribute to system upgrades, technical improvements, and new technology deployments.
• Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, and engineering standards.
• Support and mentor Audio Assistants and Audio Engineers as they develop their technical capability.

As a Guarantee-level Audio Engineer, you'll play a critical role in the preparation, configuration, operation, and delivery of complex broadcast audio systems across NEP's outside broadcast fleet, flypack facilities, and remote production environments.

What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be trusted to take technical ownership of audio delivery on a wide range of productions, ensuring systems are prepared, configured, and operated to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as the lead audio engineer on assigned outside broadcasts and live productions.
• Preparing, configuring, testing, and operating broadcast audio systems across OB trucks, flypacks, and remote production environments.
• Managing audio infrastructure including consoles, stageboxes, routing systems, communications, monitoring, and audio networking platforms.
• Supporting production teams to deliver high‑quality audio solutions that meet client and editorial requirements.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience operating as an Audio Engineer within outside broadcast, live production, or broadcast facilities.
• Strong practical understanding of broadcast audio workflows and signal flow.
• Experience working with broadcast audio consoles and routing systems.
• Proven ability to fault‑find and troubleshoot under live production pressures.
• Experience supporting complex live broadcasts and high‑profile productions.
• Knowledge of audio networking technologies such as Dante, AES67, or ST 2110.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support the development of others.
