Audio Electronics Design Engineer
Location: 100% Office Based in Northampton, Northamptonshire
Monday – Friday 08:00-17:00
Overtime may be required during busy periods.
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 (Depending on experience)

Summary
Pin Point are looking for an Audio Electronics Design Engineer for our client based in Northampton. The client is an internationally recognised audio design and amplification company, run by musicians who are passionate about what they build and create. The Audio Electronics Design Engineer will join the R&D team and will be a key part in driving the development of new audio products from initial design, through to production and post-production maintenance.

Audio Electronics Design Engineer Responsibilities:
  1. Project lead and design of system architecture.
  2. Responsible for all research and full development, through full life cycle, of assigned projects.
  3. Contributing towards new innovative design ideas to drive our client's technology forward.
  4. Undertaking the building and testing of electronic prototypes.
  5. Brainstorming new product ideas and technical requirements/specifications.
  6. Communicating with UK and overseas teams on project-specific topics.
  7. Assisting other day-to-day technical activities of the R&D department.
  8. Possible, infrequent overseas travel as required – this is not essential, however can be an exciting opportunity for an engineer to broaden their knowledge and experience.
Audio Electronics Design Engineer Qualifications:
  1. Degree qualified in electronics or similar engineering subject.
  2. 5+ years’ commercial experience in electronic design, ideally within audio electronics.
  3. Audio experience working with ADC/DAC (Analogue/Digital Converters) and associated components, Op-amps etc.
  4. High-speed digital electronics experience, working with microcontrollers, DSPs etc.
  5. PCB layout and design experience.
Audio Electronics Design Engineer Desirable Skills:
  1. Commercial proficiency using Altium design software.
  2. Appreciation of EMC and its considerations during design.
  3. Experience with project ownership, helping to deliver a project, on time and on cost, from initial concept through all sample stages and mass production.
Audio Electronics Design Engineer Attitudes:
  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  3. Guitar or bass player is a plus.
  4. High level of attention to detail.
  5. Independent and self-reliant.
  6. A flexible approach to work.
