A local council in Falkirk, Scotland, seeks casual drivers to transport service users with disabilities to and from their day centres. This role includes operating a wheelchair-accessible minibus and performing basic maintenance checks. Candidates must hold a category D1 driving licence, with a category D (PCV Licence) being a plus. A flexible attitude and experience with disabilities are preferred. Working hours are split shifts, Monday to Friday.
The Transport Planning Unit on behalf of Social Work Services, operate the transport to and from the Adult Day Centres.
We now require casual drivers to join the transport team. Working with a Passenger Assistant you will be responsible for transporting service users with learning and physical disabilities from their homes to and from Dundas Resource Centre in Grangemouth. This would involve working split shifts, Monday to Friday (8-10am and/or from 2.45-4.45pm) as and when required.
Driving a wheelchair accessible 16 seater minibus you will be responsible for daily basic maintenance and safety checks. A category D1' on your driving licence is essential with a category D' (PCV Licence) being desirable.
Ideally you should possess a flexible and mature attitude, have some experience of dealing with people with disabilities and a good geographical knowledge of the Falkirk Council area.
If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.
