Job summary

Bradford Council is seeking an Attendance Support Officer to help ensure every child can attend school regularly. You will collaborate with schools, families and partner services to plan packages of support that remove barriers to attendance and improve outcomes for Bradford's children.

You will engage persistently with schools and families, applying your knowledge of Early Help processes and legal options where necessary, and an Enhanced DBS check will be required for all appointees.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS check will be sought for all appointees.
• Experience working with children, young people and schools.
• Knowledge of barriers to attendance and Early Help processes.

Responsibilities

• Engage with schools, families and services to remove barriers to attendance.
• Plan and implement packages of support to enable regular attendance.
• Work with partner services including Early Help, Children's Social Care, NHS and Police.
• Support efforts to enforce attendance where necessary within legal options.
