Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is helping a Hampshire-based outstanding secondary school to recruit an experienced Attendance Officer to join its support team. The role focuses on monitoring attendance, communicating with families, and using data to identify where additional support is needed.

You will work closely with pastoral staff and senior leaders to ensure attendance concerns are addressed promptly and records are maintained accurately.

Qualifications

• Experience in attendance or family liaison within a school is preferred.
• Experience with school administration, pastoral support or education roles is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality.
• Follow up unexplained and persistent absences.
• Contact parents and carers regarding attendance.
• Identify patterns and concerns within attendance data.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and systems.
• Support attendance improvement plans and interventions.
• Work with pastoral staff and senior leaders.
• Arrange and support attendance meetings.
• Produce attendance reports for staff.
• Keep detailed records of communications and actions.
• Support strategies to reduce persistent absence.
• Follow safeguarding, attendance and school procedures.
