Llanwern High School in Newport is seeking an Attendance Officer on a fixed-term contract for 12 months, Grade 5 (£28,598 - £31,022). The role is part-time and term-time with hybrid working.

You will build strong relationships with pupils and families, manage attendance tracking and Fixed Penalty Notices, and work with Heads of Year to improve school-wide attendance and attainment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of working with children and young people.
• Experience organising Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs).
• Experience supporting attendance tracking and monitoring processes.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Llanwern High School. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced individual to support our attendance team. The successful candidate will foster strong working relationships with pupils and families, helping to break down barriers to school attendance and develop strategies to improve motivation and attainment. Applicants should have significant experience of working with children and young people, organising Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs), and supporting attendance tracking and monitoring processes. The Attendance Officer will work closely with the attendance team and Heads of Year to promote and improve whole-school attendance. Our school Llanwern High School is a mixed 11–18 comprehensive school serving much of the eastern side of Newport.
