Job summary

Lancaster Road Primary School in Morecambe is seeking an Attendance Officer to join our dedicated team. You will promote good attendance and punctuality, work with pupils, families and external agencies, and support children to access the best education through regular attendance.

The role is part-time, term-time, with a pro-rata salary. The successful candidate will have strong administrative and IT skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to removing barriers to attendance.

Qualifications

  • Essential: GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
  • Essential: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for home visits where required.
  • Desirable: training in safeguarding, child protection, or early help processes.
  • Desirable: experience maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information.

Lancaster Road Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive Attendance Officer to join our dedicated team. We are looking for a vibrant individual who can work effectively with pupils, families, staff, and external agencies to promote excellent attendance and punctuality across the school. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our children to access the very best education and opportunities through regular school attendance.

Lancaster Road Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Morecambe, just a short walk from the town centre and beautiful coastline.

Salary & Working Hours

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
  • Hold a minimum of GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for home visits where required
Desirable Qualifications
  • Training in safeguarding, child protection, or early help processes
Desirable Experience
  • Have experience of maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information confidentially.
  • Possess strong administration, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Be confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office and school management systems including SIMs.
  • Have an understanding of the importance of school attendance and the factors that can affect pupil attendance and punctuality.
