Job summary

Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy is seeking an Attendance Officer to join our pastoral team and help drive student attendance and wellbeing. You will contribute to a proactive culture under the mantra 'Attend to Achieve' and support pupils across the 11-16 provision.

Experience in a school setting is helpful, and familiarity with Arbor is welcome but training will be provided. There may be an honorarium consideration for a highly experienced officer with over three years in a similar role.

At Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy we are seeking an additional highly motivated, passionate and supportive Attendance Officer to join our busy pastoral team. We are increasing our team by a further Attendance Officer, to meet the needs of our students and community and being proactive with our mantra of 'Attend to Achieve'.

To be successful in the role, you will be a reliable and hard-working team player. You will have strong keyboard skills, written and verbal communication skills and a 'can do' attitude.

Experience working within a school environment and using Arbor are desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

There is also the potential of an honorarium for an experienced School Attendance Officer who has at least 3 years' service in a similar role. For the right candidate this would result in line managing one Attendance Officer and taking overall responsibility for the department.

About the Academy

Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy is located in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, and in very close proximity to the centre of Birmingham. It is a slightly larger than average, 11-16 co-educational academy with approximately 1,200 students. It has grown over the last few years and is now full and oversubscribed in every year group. The academy’s reputation locally is excellent. OSCA was graded as a good academy, for the third time in 2023.

The academy has been recognised with a myriad of awards over recent years.
