Job summary

Wednesbury Oak Academy is seeking an Attendance Officer to strengthen attendance, support families and improve outcomes for pupils. The role emphasizes safeguarding, data analysis and collaboration with pastoral teams.

You will monitor attendance, coordinate interventions, and produce reports for leaders. An enhanced DBS check is required, with visits and interviews part of the selection process.

Qualifications

• Experience in attendance/safeguarding in an education setting.
• Ability to analyse attendance data and produce reports.
• Strong communication with families, staff and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse attendance data.
• Follow up absences and work with families to improve attendance.
• Coordinate attendance interventions, meetings and home visits.
• Produce attendance reports for leaders and governors.
• Manage statutory attendance processes, including penalty notices and census returns.
• Track vulnerable pupils and work with safeguarding/pastoral teams.
