Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for an Attendance Support Officer based in Wrexham, working within a Local Authority setting to improve attendance, attainment and wellbeing of children and young people. Qualifications

• GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent.
• Level 4 qualification in a relevant discipline or significant equivalent experience.
• Experience with children, families, or vulnerable groups.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and attendance legislation.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address barriers to school attendance with schools and families.
• Undertake home visits to assess needs and support attendance.
• Provide guidance on attendance expectations and safeguarding implications.
• Mentor pupils to address anxieties and engagement difficulties.
• Build relationships with parents/carers to improve attendance.
• Analyse attendance data to inform interventions and plans.
• Complete attendance audits and provide improvement recommendations.
• Collaborate with Education Social Workers and other professionals.
