The Long Eaton School in Nottingham is seeking an Attendance Administrator to develop specialist knowledge of attendance and punctuality issues, manage registers, and liaise with parents.
You will use Academy attendance monitoring software and the MIS used for census returns, producing accurate reports and supporting safeguarding initiatives. The role also covers general attendance admin and coordinating related events to boost attendance.
-Develop specialist knowledge of attendance andpunctuality issues and best practice; - Manage and monitor the completion ofregisters ensuring all registers are completed timely and accurately followingup on missing marks and records of reason for absence;
-Undertake first day absence calls/texts and loginformation effectively;
-Liaise with parents/carers by telephone and in personregarding attendance issues including sensitive requests for medical evidencefollowing absences;
-Be proficient and responsible for the use of Academyattendance monitoring software and any system this feeds into for statorreporting such as the MIS for the school census returns; - Supportingthe Attendance Improvement Manager with administrative tasks relating toattendance, including the organisation, communication and coordination of anyevents relating to attendance, including the production of certificates,booking of reward trips and any other initiatives relating to improving andmaintaining outstanding attendance.
-Produce and provide meaningful and accurate reports onstudent attendance and punctuality on daily, weekly, termly and annual basis tofacilitate and support effective short, medium and long term strategic decisionmaking;
-Be full aware of and carry out all work in line withChild Protection/Safeguarding procedures;- Manageyour own work load in line with the Academy priorities.
-Maintain a good working knowledge of the statutoryframework and any policies and procedures relating to school attendance, childemployment, child protection and special needs etc.
-To undertake a comprehensive range of administrationtasks, ensuring that work is prioritised and deadlines are met;
-Undertake general office duties within the attendanceoffice, answering telephone calls, face to face enquiries, photocopying, minutetaking etc.
-Enter and retrieve data relating to students onto theMIS and other software packages as required;- Scanning and filingletters onto the system;
-Ensure all letter 1’s and letter 2’s are sent out toparents of identified students of persistent absence; - Ensure messages are sent out to parentsof absentees;
-Undertaking any other duties which may reasonably beregarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of thepost as defined;
-Provide first aid assistance to staff, students andvisitors.
