Trainee Tax Assistant (ATT Study Support Provided)

Location: Witney, Oxfordshire
Salary: £20,000 + full training and benefits package

A forward-thinking and fast-growing accountancy firm in Oxfordshire is looking for a bright and motivated Trainee Tax Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone starting their career in tax, offering full support towards the ATT qualification.

You’ll join a supportive team where professional development, transparency and a genuine passion for what they do are at the heart of the business.

The role includes:

  • Assisting with personal, partnership and corporate tax return preparation

  • Supporting the production of sole trader and partnership accounts

  • Managing tax filing deadlines to ensure timely submissions to HMRC

  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients

  • Maintaining and updating client records

  • Supporting other areas of the business during quieter periods

What they’re looking for:

  • Minimum grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English

  • At least 96 UCAS points (or equivalent qualifications)

  • Strong IT skills, especially Excel

  • Great attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • A proactive attitude and ability to work both independently and in a team

  • A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential

  • Previous relevant experience is a bonus but not required
