Job summary

Ports of Jersey Ltd is recruiting an Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) to join the Engineering team at Jersey Airport (St Peter). The role focuses on installation, maintenance, fault diagnosis and performance monitoring of CNS/ATM equipment to ensure safe air traffic operations.

Ideal candidates will have ATSEP training with a qualification in electronics or telecommunications, strong fault-finding skills, and experience in safety-critical environments.

Qualifications

• ATSEP initial training completed.
• English proficiency at least B1.
• Experience as ATSEP in an airport or ANSP centre.
• Qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related.
• Experience maintaining complex electronic, communications, or safety-critical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of communication, navigation, surveillance, networking, or IT systems.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Commitment to maintaining high safety and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, and repair operational CNS/ATM equipment and infrastructure.
• Respond to equipment failures and service interruptions, ensuring rapid restoration of critical services.
• Conduct preventative maintenance in accordance with regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
• Perform system testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvement.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation.
• Participate in engineering projects, upgrades, and technology implementation programmes.
• Support 24/7 operational requirements through participation in an on-call roster where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
