Job summary

Piramal Pharma Solutions in Morpeth is seeking a Packaging Operator for a 12-month FTC. The role covers primary, secondary and tertiary packaging operations, line changeovers, and associated GMP documentation to ensure compliant production.

You will work under supervision on packaging lines, load materials, adjust line settings, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a GMP framework.

Qualifications

• Primary, secondary and tertiary packaging experience in GMP environment.
• Technical packaging experience in FMCG or GMP environment.
• Basic literacy and mathematics skills.

Responsibilities

• Work under some direct supervision on packaging operations.
• Package a wide variety of products on secondary and tertiary lines according to SOPs.
• Select and dispense required material, load equipment, and adjust line as necessary.
• Responsible for full line changeovers and setup according to SOPs and training aids.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Maintain production paperwork and data entry.
• Carry out full clean down of the packaging line per established procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement/SFT/NPI and CANDO activities to support improvement.
• Investigate and report problems on equipment and organise maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Ensure quality of work under GMP and document actions in GMP records.

Packaging Operator (FTC 12 Months)

JOB OVERVIEW:

Fully competent on all relevant operations including intermediate level changeover / set up of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging equipment. This includes packaging lines and downstream processes (thermo former, cartonner, check weigh and over wrapper, labellers), documentation completion and relevant MRP / SAP transactions, cleaning procedures and in-process QC activities associated with packaging operations. Maintaining high quality standards, in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements within GMP and Safety guidelines.

Relevant Experience

• Primary secondary and tertiary packaging experience with a GMP environment is preferred
• Technical packaging experience in an FMCG or GMP operating environment would be beneficial
• Basic literacy and mathematics skills required

Key Roles/Responsibilities

• Works under some direct supervision
• Will package a wide variety of products on a range of secondary and tertiary packaging operations according to SOP's
• Selects and dispenses required material, loads equipment, making adjustments to line as necessary
• Responsible for full line changeovers and set-up according to detailed standard operating procedures and training aids.
• May carry out trouble shooting root cause analysis and minor maintenance work to minimise down time.
• Has responsibility for production and all associated paperwork and computer data entry.
• Required to carry out full clean down of the packaging line in accordance with established procedures
• To actively take part in continuous improvement/SFT/NPI (Shop Floor Transformation & New Product Introduction) and CANDO activity within the department to support a continuous improvement culture and drive operational performance improvement.
• Investigates and reports problems on equipment and organises maintenance with a primary objective of minimising process downtime.
• Responsible for the quality of work as all work is subject to GMP
• Will monitor and record all actions and document as appropriate within GMP requirements.
