Job summary

Harrow School in northwest London seeks an Athletic Development Coach to deliver comprehensive programmes for boys aged 13 to 18. The role is permanent, 28 hours per week across 33 term weeks plus 3 holiday weeks, with a 36-week year.

You will structure athletic development to align with the school's sport vision, coach from beginner to elite levels, ensure safety, and foster enjoyment and achievement in sport across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Experience in academy or professional sporting environments is valuable.

An independent boarding school for boys aged 13 to 18

ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT COACH

Permanent, 36 weeks per year (33 weeks term time plus 3 weeks in the School holidays) 28 hours per week

The role

You will provide comprehensive and professional Athletic Development services and programmes for all boys involved in sports and physical development at Harrow. This will include structuring the Athletic Development provision to align with the Harrow vision for Sport, catering from beginners to the those in pursuit of excellence. The skills

You will have experience of coaching school-aged boys and teams from beginner to elite/advanced levels of performance, using your nationally recognised Athletic Development coaching and/or other vocational qualifications relevant to the sport and fitness industry. Your experience of working within an academy or professional sporting environment and of coaching national and international level athletes will be valuable, and your focus on safety protocols and understanding of the needs of athletes across multiple sports will support them to thrive in an environment of skill and safety. Using your strong communication skills and your supportive, approachable personality you will motivate and enthuse boys of all abilities to excel, and enjoy sports.
