The Athletic Marketing & Promotions Graduate Assistant (AMGA) will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Experience for all duties associated with the planning and implementing of the Athletic Department's comprehensive marketing and promotions plan in accordance with Northern Kentucky University (NKU), Horizon League and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) guidelines.

The AMGA is responsible for coordinating the marketing and promotional efforts - including, but not limited to, designing and editing advertising materials, email marketing, social media, creating promotional plans, etc. - for a minimum of two sports.

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Athletic Marketing staff in the development, coordination, and implementation of marketing, promotional, and fan experience efforts for all sports.

  • Develop full-scale marketing plans for sports as needed and assigned.

  • Manage all aspects of Norse Kids' Club, with a focus on growth

  • Assist with sponsorship sales and fulfillment.

  • Assist with on-campus communication efforts.

  • Improve the atmosphere at each event through the use of games, giveaways, contests, trivia, music, etc.

  • Manage all department charitable donation requests

  • Design and edit advertising materials

  • Assist in the implementation of men's and women's basketball promotions and in-game entertainment

  • Provide support for select athletic events not part of assigned sports.

  • Write scripts and timing sheets for selected sports

  • Comply with NKU, Horizon League and NCAA regulations

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Must be accepted into an NKU graduate program and enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours, maintaining a 3.0 GPA or better. Individuals accepted into an Accelerated Online graduate program are not eligible for a graduate assistant position. Position is under contract for one academic year with option for renewal.Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, and one (1) year of experience in marketing, fan experience, or game presentation. Must be able to work evenings and weekends on a flexible schedule.
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in a NCAA Division I athletic department. Experience coordinating home events. Evidence of strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly to convey thoughts, ideas and plans clearly to NKU Coaches, Administrators and other staff members.
