Job summary

Booth Welsh Ltd. in North Ayrshire is seeking a skilled ATEX Inspector to join our on-site team at a major pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. You will perform detailed inspections across electrical and instrumentation assets, identify remedial work, and support shutdown preparation.

The role requires independence, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement. You will work to maintain site reliability and comply with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation inspection, ideally ATEX environments.
• Strong understanding of safety and compliance standards in industrial or pharmaceutical settings.
• Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Perform close and detailed inspections on electrical/instrumented items across the site.
• Identify and carry out remedial work on damaged or non-compliant equipment, replace components where necessary.
• Support shutdown preparation activities, including line walks, drawing gathering, and inspection scoping.
• Help implement and maintain practices to improve service delivery.
• Ensure all work meets company standards and health, safety, and quality requirements.
• Work flexibly to meet business needs and occasionally extend hours.
• Manage a high workload efficiently with attention to detail.

Job description

We’re looking for a skilled ATEX Inspector to join our team on-site at a major pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in North Ayrshire.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining site safety and reliability by carrying out detailed ATEX inspections across a wide range of electrical and instrumentation assets.

What you’ll do:

• Perform close and detailed inspections on a large number of electrical and instrumented items across the site.
• Identify and carry out remedial work on damaged or non-compliant equipment, and replace components where necessary.
• Support shutdown preparation activities — including line walks, gathering technical drawings, and planning inspection scopes.
• Help to implement and maintain effective working practices and systems to continually improve service delivery.
• Ensure all work meets company standards and complies with health, safety, and quality requirements.
• Work flexibly to meet business needs, sometimes taking on additional responsibilities or extended hours.
• Manage a high workload efficiently and independently while maintaining attention to detail.
