Job summary

FMG RS in Guildford is seeking an IMI/ATA Vehicle Damage Assessor to inspect damaged vehicles, assess repair scope, costs and timeframes, and prepare estimates.

You will liaise with insurers to obtain repair authority, explain methods to customers, stay current with repair methods and insurer literature, and work as part of a busy bodyshop team to get vehicles back on the road quickly.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or ATA/IMI qualification required.
• Solid bodyshop background as Estimator or VDA.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect damaged vehicles and assess the extent of damage, costs of repair and timeframes.
• Liaise with insurance companies to obtain authority to repair at estimated costs.
• Explain repair methodology to customers, engineers and technicians.
• Keep up to date with repair methodologies and insurers' literature.
• Work as part of a bodyshop team to ensure vehicles are returned to road safely and quickly.
