Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic manager to bring their leadership and expertise to support the Amazon Travel and Events functional teams at Amazon. This role requires a customer-obsessed and detail-oriented professional who will work with the Compliance Manager to develop and implement smart, intuitive policies that balance customer experience with necessary controls.

The ideal candidate will be able to dive deep, learn and be curious, and think big regarding policy configurations across multiple instances, considering country nuances to increase controllership in managed programs while maintaining a great customer experience and creating visibility across partner teams. This role involves working with business, policy, communications, and legal teams to develop Amazon's Travel and Events policies on existing and emerging issues, including crafting solutions to complex problems.

This position will play a key role in building and reshaping the travel and events self-service tools administration, establishing robust change management processes, documentation, and policy tracking. It offers high visibility and opportunities for impactful collaboration with cross-functional teams and vendors worldwide.

The successful candidate must quickly establish partnerships with internal stakeholders, third-party partners, and senior leadership to align on program goals, projects, and initiatives.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Collaborate in a highly-matrixed environment with multiple teams and external stakeholders to establish optimal Travel and Events policy settings embedded into managed services and technologies.
  2. Partner with the Compliance Manager to develop innovative policy configurations across all managed services and technologies.
  3. Regularly assess policies and technologies to identify bugs or failures, aiming to enhance customer experience, reduce friction, and ensure compliance.
  4. Monitor KPIs and controls related to travel and events policy management (e.g., tool adoption, control parameters).
  5. Coordinate policy-related messaging, documentation, and tracking within managed technologies.
  6. Foster a culture of compliance by engaging stakeholders to educate and promote understanding of policy parameters.
  7. Ensure compliance with country-specific regulations, configuring tools and processes accordingly (e.g., work council laws in France).
  8. Support audits and regulatory engagements as needed.
  9. Evaluate policy effectiveness and promote increased compliance through ongoing monitoring.
  10. Oversee the global travel and events policy change management process, including tracking and communication of updates.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years in Travel and Events Management roles
  • 5+ years experience in policy administration within travel industry tools
  • Strong understanding of travel operations and related technologies
  • Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented approach
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration
  • Strong organizational skills for managing complex issues
