Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is recruiting a Children's Social Worker across its Children's Social Care teams. You will champion the voice of the child and work with families and partners to create lasting, positive change.

In this role, you will lead on Child in Need, Child Protection and Court work, build strong relationships with children and families, and contribute to high-quality practice within a supportive learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Registered with Social Work England.
• Completed the ASYE and have at least 1 year post-qualifying experience.
• Skilled at forming meaningful relationships with children and families.
• Organised, reflective and confident in prioritising your workload.
• Creative in championing the voices of children.
• Dedicated to high standards, ethics and resilient practice.

Responsibilities

• Make confident, timely decisions grounded in statutory responsibilities.
• Lead on Child in Need, Child Protection and Court work.
• Build strong, compassionate relationships with children and families.
• Communicate clearly, openly and respectfully.
• Co-create effective support plans that meet children's needs.
• Work collaboratively with partners to gain a full picture of each child’s circumstances.
• Advocate for children’s voices, rights and lived experiences.
• Engage in reflective supervision and take ownership of your practice.
• Support and mentor less experienced colleagues, modelling best practice.
