Assurance - Pensions - Audit Manager - Glasgow-Manchester-Reading

The opportunity

As an auditor at EY, you will verify clients' compliance with accounting principles, helping businesses accurately reflect their financial health. We offer tailored learning and development to help you progress and contribute to a better working world.

Your key responsibilities
  • Leading fieldwork and managing the audit process, considering risk issues and technical matters, and liaising with relevant departments for smooth delivery
  • Engaging clients and providing authoritative advice
  • Understanding clients' ambitions and referring them to other services as appropriate
  • Developing knowledge of market trends and supporting junior colleagues
  • Supervising daily team operations
  • Managing performance and coaching juniors
Skills and attributes for success

You will be a high-profile contact, resolving complex issues and influencing clients and teams, with opportunities to grow into new professional areas.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • Experience in planning, executing, and reporting on external audits in a managerial role
  • Fully qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA, ICAS, ICAEW, or equivalent)
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Project and people management skills

Ideally, you'll also have
  • Pensions sector experience
  • Previous managerial experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge of UK market issues
  • Experience with UK GAAP, IFRS, SOX 404, and GAM

  • Adaptability and excellent communication skills
