Brief Description

This is a 6-month secondment (with potential to become permanent) offering an exciting development opportunity within the Eastern Routes Capital Programmes - Assurance & P3M Capability Team. The role involves implementing and managing the Assurance model to support the operating model of the Eastern Routes Capital Programmes.

This is an exciting time to join ERCP as we advance our operating model and respond to industry challenges post-pandemic. The Assurance & P3M Capability team plays a key role in implementing Assurance processes to support project delivery. We are passionate about delivering excellent service and continuously improving our processes.

About the role (External)

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Implement and manage the P3M Assurance Framework to support project delivery, providing analysis of delivery confidence, risk identification, and insights into compliance with processes and governance.
  2. Support and manage an Integrated Assurance approach, collaborating with functional and project teams, and providing expert guidance to the Capital Delivery organisation regarding P3M Assurance.
  3. Develop and maintain processes, tools, and procedures to support an effective P3M Assurance Framework, including engaging with project teams and suppliers for assurance activities.
  4. Manage monitoring, control, and reporting systems to analyze project and programme performance data, identifying underlying issues impacting delivery.
  5. Utilize Assurance activities to identify improvements, risks, and opportunities, tracking improvement plans and providing management reports to support decision-making.

Job Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • Member of a relevant professional body with chartered status.
  • Understanding of rail assurance frameworks, standards, procedures, and corporate governance.
  • Experience in managing and assuring projects successfully.
  • Knowledge of Quality management tools and process improvement skills.
  • Experience in tracking and delivering benefits within large organizations.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify insights, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Strong IT skills with experience in recognized systems/software.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of rail management systems.
  • Understanding of railway operational and contractual practices.
  • Certified Lead Auditor.
