At SHG, we are committed to excellence in social housing and local government services. Our Assurance team plays a crucial role in ensuring we stay ahead of sector developments, maintain compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, and implement best practices.
As an Assurance Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for strategy and policy development, insurance, and information governance. Your role will involve ensuring SHG remains compliant with all relevant regulations and legislation, while driving strategic initiatives to reshape services and respond effectively to new challenges.
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong knowledge of the issues facing social housing providers and local government. Experience in shaping strategic and operational processes with diverse stakeholder views is essential. You should possess inspirational leadership skills, able to motivate and role model SHG’s ASPIRE Values. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to challenge the status quo are crucial. You should be resilient, determined, and able to work autonomously and overcome barriers. Understanding political sensitivities and the wider business context is important. Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with experience in writing reports and developing guidance, are required. A flexible working approach, including attending evening meetings when needed, is also necessary.
