The opportunity

As an auditor at EY, you will provide independent verification of our clients’ compliance with accounting principles. We are expanding our Audit teams across the UK with vacancies in London.

Your key responsibilities

• Providing exceptional audit services for our clients
• Leading fieldwork and managing the audit process, considering audit risks and technical matters, coordinating with relevant departments
• Engaging clients, offering authoritative advice, and maintaining professionalism
• Understanding clients’ goals and needs, referring them to other specialists as needed
• Keeping up-to-date with market trends and sharing knowledge with junior colleagues
• Supervising daily team operations
• Managing performance and coaching junior team members

Skills and attributes for success

You will be a trusted contact for colleagues and clients, resolving complex issues and influencing industry standards. Building your expertise will position you as a credible advisor, opening new professional opportunities.

To qualify for the role you must have

• Experience in planning, executing, and reporting on external audits in a managerial role
• Full qualification as a chartered accountant (ACA / ACCA / CA / ICAS / ICAEW or equivalent)
• Strong technical expertise and sector experience in Banking and/or Capital Markets, especially Investment Banking
• Project and people management skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Sector experience in Banking and/or Capital Markets
• Previous managerial experience or equivalent
• Knowledge of UK market issues, UK GAAP, IFRS, SOX 404
• Experience using GAM for assurance engagements
• Problem-solving skills, collaborative management style, adaptability, and excellent communication skills
