Assurance Analyst: Technology, Data and Security

Join our journey to create a new experience for the National Lottery and help us to power change for the greater good.

About Us:

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group - a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence in Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus, and Italy. We have been officially awarded the Fourth Licence (10-year licence) to operate the National Lottery starting February 2024.

We've developed ground-breaking technologies, built player protection frameworks, and have a proven track record of making lotteries better. Our aim is to create one of the UK's most inclusive organisations - where people can bring the best of themselves, to do their best work, every day, for the benefit of good causes.

While the main contribution of the National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do. Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, large-scale transformation journey to build a bigger, better, and safer National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.

Role Purpose:

Allwyn operates a Three Lines of Defence model: First line Functional Management & Staff, Second line Functional Compliance, Risk & Insurance, and Central Compliance, and Third Line Internal Audit. As part of the first line, you will participate and feed into the Central Second line and Third line of Defence's risk universe to enable an aligned and integrated assurance approach. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the functions and the wider Assurance team to implement a robust, forward-looking Assurance framework. This role supports the following functions: Technology, Data, and Security.

Role Responsibilities:

Working with the Senior Assurance Manager to:

  • Embed the Assurance, Compliance, and Risk frameworks and objectives across Technology, Data, and Security, with a focus on enhancing risk management, controls activity, real-time compliance, governance, outcomes, and monitoring activities.
  • Execute Allwyn's Self-Assessment Programme, monitor progress, coverage, intervene when required, produce reports, and make recommendations; identify compliance risks associated with business activities; follow up on resolution of compliance issues.
  • Maintain Risk Registers, proactively work with departments to identify new risks, and track emerging risks that may become operational risks.
  • Support the Function to ensure effective implementation, execution, and monitoring of the wider National Lottery licence conditions and Matters to be Protected.
  • Assist TD&S Function teams to provide assurance mainly to governance committees on the control environment's effectiveness.
  • Support TD&S to keep Strategies, Policies, Processes, and Procedures current and fit for purpose.
  • Help TD&S teams identify and meet company standards (align, adhere, accredit, etc.) and demonstrate best practices according to policy and reporting needs.
Key Measures of Success:
  • Operating with integrity and maintaining independence.
  • Assurance activities supported by proper documentation, peer reviews, and quality checks.
  • TD&S risk register is up to date with appropriate sign-offs.
  • Self-assessment activities are current and completed on schedule.
  • Supporting Outcomes-Based Decision Making (OBDM) and broader business assurance requirements.
  • Timely monthly reporting.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in Audit, Risk, and Compliance.
  • Highly analytical, intellectually agile, able to manage complexity quickly.
  • High integrity and independence, with strong partnership skills to build trusting relationships.
  • Collaborative, influential, and a good listener to build consensus.
  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
  • Strong assurance acumen and strategic mindset.
  • Working knowledge of technology.
  • Experience in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
  • High personal integrity and ability to maintain independence while building impactful relationships across teams and governance committees.

Our goal is to create one of the UK's most inclusive organisations—where people can bring their best selves to work every day for good causes.
