Position Summary

Baptist Health Princeton Hospital

Responsible for the day-to-day operations within the clinical setting to ensure the delivery of quality service and optimal patient flow.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates staffing needs and reviews coverage daily to meet patient care requirements.
  • Assists with clinical evaluation of team members, completes written performance evaluations, and conducts timely assessments.
  • Participates in hiring and evaluating potential team members.
  • Monitors compliance with certifications, licenses, and required education for staff.
  • Assists in coordinating and participating in patient care delivery, ensuring compliance with physician orders and policies.
  • Performs direct patient care activities as needed to meet operational requirements.
  • Interfaces with patients and families to provide instruction, promote participation, and coordinate nursing activities.
  • Plans and evaluates compliance with organizational and regulatory policies.
  • Designs, implements, and evaluates nursing models to improve service quality.
  • Utilizes evidence-based, quality clinical nursing practices aligned with research and standards.
  • Communicates ideas clearly and effectively in verbal and written forms.
  • Embraces, communicates, and promotes change.
  • Utilizes effective fiscal management skills with financial resources.
  • Contributes to strategic and financial planning of the unit/department.
  • Cultivates exemplary customer service within the unit/department.

  • Manages human resources functions including hiring, assignments, coaching, and performance counseling.
  • Maintains regular, punctual attendance per policies and standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of risk management concepts.
  • Participates in process improvement activities.
  • Interprets patient information to meet age-specific needs and provides appropriate nursing care.
Qualifications

Education/Training: External hires and internal transfers for senior roles require a minimum of a BSN. Incumbents have until December 2026 to complete their degrees. A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or a Bachelor's with a graduate degree in business or health-related field is preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Maintain current BLS certification. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or TNCC may be required based on patient population.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an acute setting.
