Position Overview

The position is part of the Moody’s Analytics Global Sales and Customer Service Group.

The Content Licensing Group (“CLG”) manages licensing of Moody’s Ratings and other MA products to third-party data and service providers, as well as distributors. The Content Licensing Relationship Manager (RM) is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of clients in the EMEA region, including banks, insurers, asset managers, finance companies, government bodies, corporations, distributors, and data aggregators. The RM oversees licensing of Moody’s Ratings and other MA products, serving as a sales executive responsible for the overall commercial success in their territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute territory business plans.
  • Grow a sales renewal book to meet or exceed targets.
  • Organize and conduct in-person client meetings and represent MA at industry events.
  • Understand client organizations and processes to recommend appropriate licenses.
  • Generate, qualify, and convert new leads through networking and prospecting, and execute sales campaigns.
  • Manage sales cycles with coordination and communication, involving sales specialists and management as needed. Use negotiation skills to close sales successfully.
  • Demonstrate the value of MA’s solutions to clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry practices in credit, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates to management.
  • Introduce sales leads to other business units when appropriate.
  • Travel significantly within and outside the territory as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in capital markets, banking, or insurance sectors; financial data sales experience is a plus.
  • Extensive sales and relationship management experience, preferably in financial services.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with decision-makers.
  • Degree in finance, business, economics, or equivalent.
  • Entrepreneurial, driven, with a sense of urgency and teamwork skills. Strong problem-solving and influencing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and client management skills.
  • Highly organized with good time management.
  • Motivated to succeed in a high-energy sales environment.
  • Fluent in English and proficient in at least one additional European language.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Typically, an Assistant Director at Moody’s would have 5+ years of sales experience.
