Job summary

QinetiQ seeks an Associate Communications Engineer in Portsmouth to support development of underwater maritime communications systems. You will help with design, testing and analysis, working with project managers and technical leads to deliver innovative solutions.

The role requires a STEM degree and a UK driving license, with responsibilities spanning modelling, trials planning and technical reporting in lab and field environments.

Qualifications

Experience on engineering or scientific projects and lifecycle awareness.
Knowledge of RF communications concepts and techniques.
Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, CAD or similar tools.

Responsibilities

Support design, development, integration and testing of underwater maritime communications systems.
Conduct technical analysis, modelling and evaluation to support delivery.
Plan and support laboratory and field trials, collect data and report findings.
Produce high-quality technical documentation, reports and artefacts.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex communications challenges.
Assist with system installation, acceptance activities and customer outputs.
