Who You Are

You would need:

  • 12+ years’ experience in the industry with an aspiration to grow, establish, and manage your own transport planning team
  • A proven track record of developing new business, managing multiple projects, key client contacts, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Excellent report writing skills with experience in preparing Transport Notes, Statements, Assessments, and Travel Plans
  • Understanding of relevant local and national transport policy and guidance
  • Expert witness experience at planning appeals, local plan examination hearings, or similar
  • Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills with high attention to detail
  • Membership of a professional institution such as CIHT, IHE, TPS, preferably chartered via TPP or CMILT
  • Knowledge of sustainable/active travel innovations and design standards
  • Knowledge of DfT Webtag policy and strategic/microsimulation modelling tools like VISSIM or PARAMICS
  • Competence in junction capacity modelling software such as Junctions 10 and LinSig/Quickgreen, and other industry software like TRICS and TEMPro
  • Proficiency in preliminary highway design using AutoCAD and relevant standards
  • Competence in GIS software packages such as QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, Basemap TRACC, Podaris

As part of the team, you will lead the expansion of Rodgers Leask’s Longbridge Transport Planning Team, working from an open plan office in Longbridge town centre, close to amenities and transport options. You will be supported by experienced directors and a Principal Transport Planner.
