Net Zero People is working with a leading Renewables developer based in Edinburgh, seeking an Associate Town Planner to join their planning department.

The Associate Town Planner will oversee the day-to-day management of the existing planning portfolio, which currently includes Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Data Centres located within the central belt of Scotland. The role involves guiding these sites through the planning process.

This position is crucial in helping the company meet its business objectives and in identifying new opportunities. Responsibilities include managing third-party planning consultants, developing strategies to secure planning approvals within deadlines, and engaging with stakeholders such as Councillors, the public, and stakeholder groups through presentations and discussions.

With support from other team members, the successful candidate will also assist in identifying new business opportunities and assessing planning risks.

While a formal qualification in Town Planning is not required, candidates should have experience working for a developer, leading site progress through planning, and focusing on delivering successful outcomes within set timeframes.
