Job Title: Associate Town Planner

Location: Kent

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and respected independent planning consultancy based in Kent, known for delivering high-quality, commercially astute planning advice across a wide range of sectors including residential, commercial, and mixed-use development.

With a strong pipeline of work and a collaborative team culture, this consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate Town Planner to play a key role in the management and growth of the business. This is a rare opportunity for a motivated planning professional to join a supportive and forward-thinking team with a clear route to partnership and profit share.

The Role

As an Associate Planner, you will:

  • Lead on a variety of complex planning projects across the South East and wider UK
  • Provide strategic advice to clients
  • Support and manage junior planning staff, offering mentorship and day-to-day oversight
  • Play a key role in business development and client relationship management
  • Contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the practice

Requirements

  • MRTPI qualified with significant experience in consultancy or a similar client-facing role
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently and work closely with clients
  • Strong understanding of the planning system and commercial awareness
  • Confident managing junior team members and supporting their professional development
  • Ambition to progress to Partner level and take on additional business responsibilities
