Job summary

WSP Bristol is seeking an Associate Director level professional to lead and deliver mechanical, electrical and public health projects. You will work in a joint leadership capacity within a diverse team, providing design and technical advice across a wide range of projects while maintaining high standards and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Cross sector experience, with healthcare and/or defence interests.
• Understanding UK/European regulations and project execution implications.
• Experience using Revit MEP or similar 3D design software to allocate/direction work.
• Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and other design tools; capable of leading production of detailed specifications.
• UK security clearance (SC) eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead joint leadership within MEP discipline to provide design and technical guidance.
• Supervise detailed designs and oversee team members’ output.
• Direct feasibility studies and site/delivery feasibility for projects.
• Direct production of detailed and performance specifications, reviewed by peers.
• Review design programmes and ensure adequate resources are available.

A little more about your role…

• Meeting the requirements of an 'Associate Director' grade and have a proven track record in both leading projects for your discipline and for an overall project team. Be able to demonstrate where your personal input has led to the commission being won or successfully delivered.
• Work in a joint leadership capacity within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team, providing design and technical advice with a multidisciplinary approach on a wide range of projects.
• Able to work using your own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role.
• Able to work under the clear direction of the client and interpret the needs of the project as a whole to meet the full delivery needs.
• Supervise the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.
• Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the overall feasibility study for the project.
• Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.
• Reviewing design programmes and ensuring that sufficient resource is available to complete the works

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

• Cross sector experience, with a particular interest in individuals with healthcare and / or defence sectors.
• Having an understanding of the UK and European regulations applicable to the discipline and how to demonstrate this in project execution.
• Have working understanding of latest mechanical design software packages to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects.
• Have understanding of working with Revit MEP or other 3D design software to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects.
• Have an ability to sketch and communicate technical detail graphically and effectively.
• Have working knowledge of AutoCAD to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects.
• Have a detailed understanding of the Part L regulations applicable to the discipline and how to demonstrate this through calculation
• Have working understanding of TAS or IES to allow the allocation/direction of work on projects
• Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)
