Job summary

Une organisation de soins cherche un thérapeute ou un travailleur social en formation pour fournir des services de thérapie de haute qualité. Ce rôle valorisant implique de travailler directement avec des parents d'accueil pour les aider tout en assurant un cadre thérapeutique pour les enfants pris en charge. La position offre la possibilité de bâtir des relations solides et de contribuer à la compréhension des responsabilités d'un parent d'accueil thérapeutique.

Qualifications

  • Expérience dans un service de placement familial ou similaire souhaitée.
  • Capacité à suivre les politiques réglementaires.
  • Excellentes compétences relationnelles et administratives.

Responsibilities

  • Offrir des séances de consultation aux parents d'accueil.
  • Faciliter un environnement thérapeutique pour les enfants placés.
  • Animer des sessions pour les nouveaux parents d'accueil.

Job description

Foster Care Associates North East is an Outstanding rated Ofsted service (2025). We are highly ambitious for our fostering families and want every child in our care to live ‘safe and happy’ lives. We have an office in Durham with staff and foster parents based throughout the entire region from North Yorkshire to Northumberland.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Therapist or Therapy training social worker to deliver high quality therapy services and to facilitate and enable a therapeutic environment for looked after children and young people living with us.

As an Associate Therapist, you will offer consultation sessions to those Foster Parents who need help when they are working with particular difficulties i, consultation to other staff within the team to discuss issues that arise in relation to actual or potential placements and to external Local Authorities, Social Workers and child’s school.

This rewarding role allows you to build firm relationships with our new Foster Parents by running sessions/groups for new foster parents during their first year and to facilitate their understanding in what it means to be a therapeutic foster carer.

It would be beneficial to have experience of working within a fostering service or similar. You should be able to evidence your administration skills, ability to follow regulatory policies and processes, and have the ability to work well within a fast paced team.
