Job summary

Tangent International is seeking an Associate Tax Director for a 12-month extendable contract based in the UK, with offices in Reading or London.

The role leads international tax planning, oversees audits and compliance, and drives tax process improvements across regions outside the US. A strong leadership track record and deep corporate tax knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.
• Fifteen or more years of relevant work experience in the income taxes field.
• Strong working knowledge of corporate income taxes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all international tax planning activities and tax projects.

• Coordinate with Associate Tax Directors and Senior Directors to ensure tax process accuracy.

• Streamline tax processes using digital finance tools including AI, Alteryx, Qlik.
• Lead a team of tax professionals.

Job description

The client islooking for an Associate Tax Director to work a 12 month extendable contract based in The UK (Reading Or London Office).

Responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing all the tax planning activities, restructuring and tax projects in countries outside of the US;
• Advising on all the merger and acquisition activities in countries outside of the US;
• Managing, progressing and resolving all the tax audits and litigations in countries outside of the US.
• Managing and overseeing the entire compliance program lifecycle, corporate tax return, meeting with the relevant Tax Authorities, performing various tax reviews and relationship management;
• Coordinating with other Associate Tax Directors and Senior Directors as necessary to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all international tax processes.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with various teams throughout the company including, but not limited to, Accounting, Legal, Treasury and FP&A in order to gain compliance, accounting and reporting efficiencies.
• Streamlining and optimizing tax processes through the use of various digital finance tools, including AI, Alteryx, Qlik and other technologies.
• Lead a team of tax professionals.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.
• Fifteen or more years of relevant work experience in the income taxes field.
• Strong working knowledge of corporate income taxes.

Even better if you have:

• A CPA, CTA, Masters of Tax or Masters of Accounting.
• Experience with OneSource Tax Provision and SAP.
• Solid data management and automation skills required; experience with Alteryx is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with proven ability to work with individuals at all levels in a team environment.
• Ability to independently challenge, when needed, while at the same time being supportive and solution-based.
• An ability to navigate and negotiate through conflicting demands to maintain focus on priority objectives while ensuring key stakeholders’ needs are met.
• Ability to lead groups, build consensus, and communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
• Strong team leadership, communication, interpersonal and management skills with an executive presence and ability to build relationships with stakeholders in peer/influence models.
• Previous people management experience.
