We are looking for an Associate to join our EMEA Sustainability Strategy team in London.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the team with the development and execution of the Sustainability Strategy for the EMEA region, aligned with Mizuho Financial Group Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero targets.
- Support the preparation of relevant Sustainability Committees / Forums / Working Groups, including supporting materials and action logs.
- Maintain, update and develop Sustainability Dashboards and MI across Risk, Business and Operational aspects.
- Track developments across regulations and standards covering sustainability disclosures, transition planning, governance, climate- and nature-related risk, and other pertinent themes.
- Work closely with Mizuho EMEA's risk and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with Climate and Sustainability regulatory requirements for assessment, monitoring and disclosures.
- Support with the design, development and delivery of staff sustainability education initiatives.
- Contribute to thematic research and analysis on sustainability trends
- Support the delivery of external sustainability communications, including investor and corporate client sustainability due diligence questionnaires and website content.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience- Undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Great organisational and time management skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Sound knowledge of the Banking Industry
- Ability to develop new skills and build product knowledge
- Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience involving preparation of presentation and briefings for senior level committees
- Language skills are an asset, but not essential
