Role Purpose

JLL’s Sustainable Asset Services support the creation of resilient real estate assets for the future. We guide our clients through the evolving landscape of sustainability, helping them meet ESG goals through retrofit, fit-out, or property transactions. Our focus is on decarbonizing buildings, protecting assets from climate change, and creating healthier environments for people.

Our diverse team of engineers and sustainability professionals work together to meet all sustainability requirements for projects, combining NZC with other critical sustainability standards to deliver best-in-class sustainable buildings. This environment fosters personal growth and learning.

What this job involves
  • Providing technical leadership within the Sustainable Asset Services team
  • Assessing existing buildings through site surveys, data analysis, and research to evaluate energy performance
  • Developing and reviewing thermal models, applying engineering knowledge to optimize NZC building designs
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues, including coaching and training
  • Managing projects or client programs with support from directors
  • Engaging with clients to discuss NZC and technical design solutions
  • Collaborating with cost management teams to evaluate cost-effective NZC options
  • Preparing NZC briefs, feasibility studies, and design guidelines
  • Conducting whole-life carbon assessments
  • Integrating NZC strategies with broader sustainability initiatives, including BREEAM and WELL
  • Staying updated on industry trends, evaluating new products/services, and sharing best practices through case studies
  • Supporting business development and client pitches
  • Contributing to the growth of the team and business
Sound like you? To apply you need to be / have:
  • A passion for sustainable and NZC buildings
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A degree in Building Services or Environmental Engineering, or a postgraduate qualification in Sustainable Design
  • Chartered status
  • At least 8 years of experience in building services or environmental engineering or design
  • Proficiency in IES VE software and CIBSE TM 54 thermal modeling, familiarity with IES Apache HVAC and DfP modeling
  • Experience in designing and constructing low energy/NZC buildings, especially retrofits
  • Knowledge of Part L/SAP modeling and upcoming regulatory changes
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and ideally Revit
  • Understanding of UK GBC and LETI standards for NZC buildings
  • Familiarity with BREEAM energy credits
  • Desirable: Experience with OneClickLCA and Passivhaus standards, and wider sustainability consulting including WELL & BREEAM
