Responsibilities

The Strategic Advisory Group is one of the most experienced investment banking teams in the industry, involved in some of the largest transactions of the past twenty years. Our global team focuses on industries such as technology, media, telecommunications, energy, power & utilities, industrials, healthcare, real estate, gaming, leisure, and consumer retail.

The Strategic Capital Markets Advisory team is a dynamic and expanding group within PJT, based in New York and London, with frequent cross-region collaboration. Over the past year, the London team has been active on high-profile transactions including for Aggreko, ASDA, ASOS, Arrow Global, Alstom, DIA, EG Group, EGYM, EIP, Job&Talent, and Porsche SE.

As an Associate, you will be part of the Advisory Group, working closely with the Restructuring and Special Situations Group, advising on financially distressed situations involving companies, financial sponsors, and creditor groups.

• You will work directly with financial sponsors and corporate clients across various industries to evaluate, structure, recommend, and execute financing options across the capital structure.
• You will advise on a range of transactions, including syndicated acquisition financings, refinancing, private credit lending, stressed refinancing, liability management (including A&Es and Exchange Offers), growth and venture capital, and structured and infrastructure financings.
• The team is at the core of PJT's M&A and Restructuring activities, providing excellent exposure to clients, senior bankers, and deal flow.
• Daily tasks include analyzing capital structures, cash flow models, credit documents, due diligence, client discussions, ratings analysis, and interacting with clients, banks, and funds.
• Associates are expected to manage analysts on transactions and internal/external business development projects.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree
• 3-4 years of experience in leveraged finance, debt capital markets, or direct lending at a bank or credit fund, with training at an accounting firm preferred
