Job Title: Associate / Senior Associate - Crime & Regulatory

Location: Manchester (Hybrid Working Available)

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

An award-winning legal business is looking for an accomplished Associate or Senior Associate to join its Crime & Regulatory team in Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and people-first legal practice that supports a wide variety of clients - including regulated professionals, SMEs and public sector organisations - often in insurance-backed or affinity-related disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle your own caseload involving:
  • Professional discipline and regulatory investigations
  • Healthcare regulation (GMC, NMC, GDC, HCPC etc.)
  • Police disciplinary investigations
  • Health, safety, environmental and licensing matters
  • Ofsted and CQC registration/enforcement
  • Business crime and public inquiries
  • Deliver first-class legal advice, both contentious and non-contentious
  • Supervise and support junior team members and delegate tasks appropriately
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external insurer clients
  • Demonstrate strong performance in billing, reporting and case management
  • Provide sensitive support to clients in complex and often distressing situations

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified solicitor with post-qualification experience in crime and/or regulatory law
  • Strong understanding of legal expenses or insurer-funded matters
  • Excellent communication, client care, and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to prioritise under pressure
  • Experience of working with or for insurers is beneficial but not essential
  • Comfortable supervising junior colleagues and working in a team-based environment
