This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Tier 1 Legal 500 and Band 1 Chambers-ranked team working on high-value, complex rural property matters for clients across the UK and internationally.

Why This Role?

Join the Best: Work in one of the largest and most respected Agriculture & Estates teams in the country, known for top-quality client work and a collaborative, friendly culture.

Be Valued: This firm was recently ranked one of the best UK law firms to work at, with a genuine focus on flexibility, wellbeing, and professional growth.

Shape Your Future: Whether you're already experienced in rural law or are looking to specialise from a private client or property background, you'll be fully supported to grow and deepen your expertise.

Lead with Purpose: Work with clients who are shaping the future of farming, sustainability, estate planning, and rural diversification.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be involved in a broad spectrum of interesting, high-quality work, including:

  • Sales and purchases of rural land and agricultural property (including options, overages, and pre-emption agreements)
  • Tenancies, sporting and fishing rights, and estate diversification issues
  • Business structures, banking/refinancing, and joint ventures
  • Renewable energy, natural capital, and environmental land management
  • Succession planning in close collaboration with private client and tax specialists

This role includes direct client contact, transaction management, and the opportunity to take part in business development activities as you grow your profile in this specialist area.

What We’re Looking For

  • PQE: 3–10 years, with relevant experience in property, private client, or ideally agricultural work
  • Interest: A real passion for the countryside, rural property, or estates – experience in agriculture is helpful but not essential
  • Skills: Strong drafting, attention to detail, and a client-focused, collaborative approach
  • Drive: Ambitious, proactive, and keen to build a long-term career in this specialist field

Why Join This Firm?

With a heritage spanning over 150 years and a reputation for excellence, this firm combines traditional values with a forward-thinking, agile approach. Their culture is friendly, ambitious, and inclusive, making it a great place to build your career and feel supported while doing so.

  • Bonus & Profit Share Schemes
  • Private Healthcare (BUPA)
  • Scottish Widows Pension Scheme (5% matched)
  • Electric Car & Cycle to Work Schemes
  • Life Assurance & Permanent Health Insurance
  • Subsidised Gym Membership
  • Paid CSR Day & Enhanced Family Leave
  • Agile / Hybrid Working & ‘Dress for Your Day’ Policy
