Job overview
We are currently looking for a 4-8 PQE associate/senior associate with proven post-qualification experience in corporate lending to join our team in the London or Glasgow office.
You can expect to have exposure to a wide range of high quality transactions.
Main tasks and qualities
You would typically act on all elements of a financing from term sheet stage, through to closing and post-closing. Your specific areas of responsibility will be the drafting and negotiation of facility agreements and intercreditor agreements, supervising other members of the team, negotiating security documents and liaising with local counsel on multi-jurisdictional matters, ensuring a smooth process to transaction close.
You will be encouraged to build client relationships with our relationship banks and key corporate clients and to have a desire to build on these and develop your own client network with support and guidance from the partners and wider team. Most of our associates will go on a client secondment to further develop personal and firm relationships and enhance their commercial skills.
You would be working as part of a committed and inspired friendly team that enjoys its work and considers itself a leader in its field of practice. All members of the team have frequent client contact.

In addition to strong technical skills, you should be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for business development and strong interpersonal skills as there will be significant client contact, in both the work and business development context. You will be expected to mentor junior members of the team, supervise trainees and work closely with the wider Global Loans team. You will also be expected to build your own cross-practice network within the firm (for example, building relationships with the Global Loans teams in our other offices, the Global Markets, Corporate Transactions and Restructuring and Special Situtions teams).
You would be expected to contribute to the firm's D&I and Corporate Responsibility initiatives, often organised with the firm's key clients.
