Job description

Job Description

At EY, we're all in to shape your future with confidence.

We'll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

Risk Consulting Associate (entry-level)

Market-leading growth in our Consulting Service Delivery team has created opportunities for new people to join the team, working in our Newcastle office. CSD is about going beyond advice, we specialize in operational delivery, which means we specialize in implementing solutions on behalf of clients, across a number of different solution areas. This is a great opportunity to begin your career within the wider EY Financial Services team as you will be trained and gain experience in a variety of EY offerings. You will have the opportunity to work on various projects with different clients, allowing you to fulfil your aspirations and shape your career.

The Opportunity

The Consulting Service Delivery team is one of EY's fastest-growing areas, based in a modern office in Newcastle city centre. With us, you will gain hands-on experience of client work, engaging with projects covering areas such as Conduct Risk, which includes topics such as suitability reviews, outcome testing, complaint reviews, and regulatory mapping, as well as Financial Crime engagements, including KYC (Know Your Customer), sanctions, transaction monitoring, and alert clearing.

Our continued expansion means we are looking for people who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working as part of diverse teams. Our entry-level roles offer a competitive salary, the opportunity to develop your career, and excellent benefits.

Your Key Responsibilities

We want you to work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility and providing support where required. Your work will be varied and will require strong time management and organisational skills. A proportion of your work may also be telephony-based, primarily outbound to our clients' customers, but with the potential for inbound call handling. You will need to regularly update senior team members on your progress. You will develop and maintain effective relationships with clients while building strong relationships internally within Consulting Service Delivery and other teams in EY. You will need to understand and maintain client confidentiality and ensure data security at all times.

We are committed to your professional development, so you will have access to a wide variety of learning tools and training programs, with areas of development. Outside of your day-to-day role, you will be expected to contribute to people initiatives like training and mentoring new team members.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Creativity and good problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
  • Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also independently when required
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise
  • Manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • Enthusiasm to face new challenges and learn new skills
  • Commitment to meet productivity and quality expectations

To qualify for the role, you must be:

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Support EY's connected working approach, with presence in the Newcastle office dictated by Business or Client demands
  • Committed to enhancing professional development

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Experience working within a professional environment
  • Experience in Financial Services
  • An understanding of how professional services businesses work with clients
