Responsibilities:

The Restructuring and Special Situations Group advises large companies, governments, and creditor groups in financially distressed situations. The group has been involved in most of the largest and most high-profile reorganizations that have occurred in the last decade. In a restructuring transaction, a wide range of strategic advisory services are provided, including advice on recapitalizations, reorganizations, corporate valuations, exchange offers, distressed mergers and acquisitions, and raising debt and equity capital.

Senior Analysts / Associates in the Restructuring & Special Situations Group have the opportunity to develop a diverse and broad corporate finance skill set. Financial restructuring transactions are complex and involve multi-party negotiations with a number of key stakeholders including, among others, the board of directors, management, secured and unsecured lenders, and equity holders. Due to the relatively small size of the group, Associates are integral to all aspects of a deal and are involved with the development, structuring and financing of transactions and regularly attend both client and internal meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions.

Typically, Associate responsibilities will include:

  • Developing detailed business plans;
  • Building comprehensive financial models to be used in corporate valuations;
  • Performing on-site due diligence with the client;
  • Analyzing credit and other legal governing documents;
  • Evaluating financial returns to current and potential investors;
  • Attending key client negotiating and strategy sessions
Qualifications:

We seek to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have excellent academic, leadership and extracurricular records. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to write effectively
  • A desire to work in a team environment, often under tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance
  • Ability to perform extensive valuation analyses
  • At least 3 years of work experience in corporate finance at a bulge bracket firm. At least 2 of these 3 years’ experience must be concentrated in leveraged & acquisition finance
  • A strong background in finance/accounting is required
  • Fluency in English

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, national origin or any other category protected by law.
