    Overview of the Department/Section

    The Japanese Corporate Banking Division (JCBD) London manages relationships with Japanese corporates primarily in the UK and across Europe. Responsibilities include origination, portfolio management, and collaboration with MUFG offices worldwide.

    The Associate will join a team of Front Office relationship managers focused on business development across a diversified corporate portfolio, requiring collaboration with Product, Credit, Compliance, and other partners.

    Main Purpose of the Role

    The Relationship Manager will manage a portfolio of corporate clients to drive growth, support team members, and coordinate with internal teams to meet risk and compliance standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage client portfolios to meet commercial and risk objectives
    • Collaborate with Product Partners to identify suitable solutions
    • Work with Credit and Compliance teams to ensure internal standards are met
    • Assist the team Director with origination and business development
    • Share information and insights with MUFG branches globally
    • Develop understanding of MUFG’s credit policies and procedures
    • Engage in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge

    Work Experience

    Experience in finance, such as Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, or client-facing roles, is advantageous.

    Skills and Experience

    Technical Competencies:

    • Knowledge of banking and corporate finance
    • Understanding of product areas like cash management, trade finance, FX, and capital markets
    • Knowledge of credit risk and compliance
    • Interest in Japanese working culture is a plus; Japanese language skills are advantageous but not required

    Education / Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Relevant professional finance qualifications
