The client in question can offer the opportunity to work on domestic and international projects and disputes, as well as offering industry-leading training & support which will enhance and develop your delay analysis skills.

This role would suit Senior Consultants seeking progression within Quantum disputes or Associate Directors currently working within quantum disputes and can demonstrate extensive quantum experience.

For this demanding construction quantum position, which will provide you access to some of the most fascinating and difficult construction conflicts, strong analytical problem-solving abilities and communication skills are a requirement.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Lead the drafting of detailed expert witness reports for use in formal dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Develop contract and commercial strategies to successfully recover performance of distressed projects or major programmes in line with client outcomes.
  • Review and assess project records to establish quantum related to claims and disputes.
  • Conduct quantum forensic analysis of tender, contract, and claims documentation.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships effectively, chair meetings with clients and advisors.
  • Analyze project performance to identify root causes of distress.
  • Provide strategic advice throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Proactively manage cash flow.
  • Support and guide junior staff on specific tasks.
  • Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Promote the contract services delivered by the consultancy in the industry.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Approximately 15 years of relevant construction and engineering industry experience.
  • Experience working on claims as a Senior QS, Project QS, or Senior Consultant.
  • Familiarity with claims and dispute proceedings.
  • Experience in adjudication is desirable but not essential.
  • Good knowledge of contracts such as NEC, JCT, and FIDIC.
  • Knowledge of relevant applications like BCIS, Cost-X, CEMAR.
  • Experience leading claims pursuits within the supply chain.
  • Ability to understand and articulate client requirements.
  • Strong report writing skills; prior evidence of report writing is highly valued.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related construction field.
  • Master’s degree in construction law or similar is highly preferable.
  • MRICS, MInstCES, or equivalent qualification, or working towards chartership (not essential).
