Associate Public Health Engineer

About You

We are looking for a personable self-starter with a positive attitude, who enjoys working collaboratively and can establish excellent working relationships. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under pressure, handle a varied workload, and keep to tight deadlines while maintaining technical excellence.

Primary Objectives

Design, manage, and supervise projects, and assume the role of design team leader as required. Carry out detailed design, prepare specifications, reports, and design drawings, and supervise project works on site.

Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, and supervise projects, and establish client briefs, technical requirements, and scope of works.
  • Agree on the level of service and project design duties with the Group Leader.
  • Assist the Group Leader with monitoring engineering/CAD resource requirements.
  • Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender, and contract on-site supervision.
  • Liaise with the design team to produce coordinated designs.
  • Monitor and control project progress, design variations, and project financial budgets.
  • Maintain excellent client and design team relationships.
  • Pursue new business opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects.
  • Implement Company Health and Safety and ensure all designs respond to CDM regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Minimum 6 years of industry experience, especially in designing and managing projects.
  • Experience in monitoring contract staff or third-party appointments.
  • Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Good knowledge of project and design analysis software.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Strong technical background and experience in designing water distribution systems.
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and hydraulic modeling software skills.
  • Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.
