Job Title – Associate – Property Litigation

Department/Sector – Legal

Job Location – Kent

Salary – Competitive

Our client is recruiting an associate whose primary responsibility will be to deal with property dispute matters, both commercial and residential in nature.

In the role you must establish client needs and objectives and manage the client expectations and keeping clients abreast of developments.

You will deal with commercial cases to include: dilapidations; business lease renewals (opposed/non-opposed); service charge disputes; rights of light disputes; rent reviews; break disputes; easements/restrictive.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring client satisfaction
  • Estimating fees and seeking partner approval of these
  • Ensuring accurate time recording
  • Managing month-end billing and provisioning
  • Managing a mixed and varied cases
  • Taking ownership and accountability for quality of work and advice, seeking partner supervision and approval where needed
  • Supervising the work of junior solicitor
  • Developing the knowledge and experience of junior solicitor and other team members as appropriate
  • Taking ownership and accountability for maintaining and enhancing professional knowledge and expertise

Key Skills/Experience Needed:

  • Knowledge and experience of both commercial and residential property disputes (5+yrs pqe)
  • Confidence in establishing robust fee estimates and ensuring the profitability of matters
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to manage a busy workload
  • The ability to balance and manage a mixed case load
