A prominent engineering services provider seeks an Associate Project Professional to manage and support projects, working flexibly across multiple locations in the UK. Ideal candidates have experience in project management within an engineering context and are self-motivated to achieve project-related qualifications. Flexibility: This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. We recognise that sometimes the best people aren’t available full-time, and the Project Manager role often drives regular engagement with project teams daily. Location: BMT's projects are spread across our sites in the UK, with emphasis on Bath, Weymouth, Fareham, Plymouth and London. We operate flexibly according to the nature of the project and the relationship with the Client, typically from these base locations but may include other BMT offices, home-working or working at Client sites (which may include overseas locations). Travel and subsistence to and from base locations and Client sites will be provided in line with BMT policy.
As an Associate Project Professional in BMT you will work in a varied project environment to help define and support projects where key outcomes are delivered successfully for our clients within contractual service-based relationships. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic and passionate about delivering projects successfully, and who want to contribute to growing a robust project management community and capability not only within the UK, but across BMT global operations. Ideally you will be familiar with delivering or supporting projects in an engineering service environment that focuses on managing contractual relationships and financial performance. The awareness of project definition elements of bids and their relationship to subsequent project delivery is helpful, but a diverse background is valued and not obligatory. We welcome applicants who can recognise, understand and undertake project management supporting duties across a spectrum of predictive (plan-based) to adaptive (iterative) approaches. Whether you are familiar with the delivery of products or systems, engineering services, new capabilities, software applications, IT systems, cyber services, environmental systems, or business transformations, we would love to hear from you.
To provide operational flexibility, an Associate Project Professional will be expected to operate across different delivery domains within BMT, which could present varied challenges. Ideally you will have knowledge and experience in one or more specific domains where the project\'s demands are highest. More information on the range of BMT services is available at www.bmt.org. You will be able to undertake project delivery responsibilities equivalent to SFIA8 Responsibilities Level 2 (Assist). In supporting roles, your competency in project management skills should be at or equivalent to SFIA8 Portfolio, Programme and Project Support (PROF) Skill Level 3.
An Associate Project Professional in BMT will be on a personal career journey to achieve, or may already hold, one or more of the following Project Management-related qualifications (or their equivalent):

A degree- or diploma-level qualification in a project management or engineering-related discipline is desirable. You will be self-motivated with a proactive approach to continual professional development and looking to grow in project management. We value professional qualifications and membership of appropriate bodies such as the APM or PMI and can provide support, training and tailored experience to achieve these, including paying for membership if not already held. Due to the nature of the work, this position requires full UK Security Clearance and you must have resided in the UK for more than 5 years.
