Job summary

Boralex seeks an Associate Project Manager in the UK to support the deployment of an ambitious onshore wind and storage portfolio. You will report to the UK Development and Deployment Director and work with a multinational team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You will coordinate with engineers, developers, landowners, and regulators, contributing to tender analyses, bid preparations, and public meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in renewable energy or development.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior team members with management of key Boralex projects.
  • Assist deployment of an onshore wind project and related energy storage assets.
  • Coordinate budgets and ensure delivery within financial constraints.
  • Manage and communicate progress to stakeholders and meet deadlines.
  • Oversee regulatory requirements, environmental assessments, and consenting.
  • Develop relationships with landowners and other stakeholders.
  • Provide project status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with tender analysis and bid preparation.
  • Represent the company at public information meetings.

In this role you will primarily take a supporting position in managing the deployment phase of a complex onshore wind project. You will also assist with the development of predominately onshore wind and energy storage projects across the UK. You will be part of a vibrant development and deployment team with varied levels of experience within the renewable energy industry. You will play an important role in: As part of the UK Development and Deployment team, you will report to the UK Development and Deployment Director while collaborating closely with colleagues in other Boralex specialist teams. Whilst being involved with the development of Boralex’s ambitious onshore wind and battery storage UK portfolio, there will be particular emphasis over the first two years for you to assist with the deployment phase of a consented wind farm. For this specific project you will work directly with and report to the Project Director.This role is crucial to the success of our development and deployment strategy and so requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic project management skills. As well as being involved with project community engagement events, you will be assisting with the management of multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. Overall, your work will help ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and uphold Boralex’s exceptional standards for safety, sustainability, and quality.

  • Supporting senior team members with the management of key Boralex projects;
  • Helping to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability;
  • Working independently on multiple complex renewable energy projects; and
  • Supporting the development of opportunities, which entails:
  • Initial analysis and due diligence of identified opportunities;
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints;
  • Managing and communicating project progress towards task deadlines and identifying critical path challenges;
  • Overseeing consenting processes, environmental assessments, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring timely approvals;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with landowners and other stakeholders;
  • Developing and providing project status updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders;
  • Analysing tenders, participating in and coordinating the preparation of bids; and
  • Representing the company and projects at public information meetings.

To succeed in this position, you need:

  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in engineering, environmental science, business, or any other related field; and
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the renewable energy industry or other development industry.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to interpret information and recommend plans and tactics.
  • An understanding of health and safety responsibilities of developers and the implications of development activities on future construction and operation activities.
  • Excellent project management skills and proficient with Word and Excel.
  • An understanding of the technical, regulatory, and financial aspects of onshore wind projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • You should be passionate about renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
  • Good communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel as required to project sites and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ability to create a collaborative working environment and build strong relationships, trust and transparency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multinational team.
  • This position will require occasional travel across the UK. Additional, but less frequent travel abroad, mainly France, will also be required.
