Join us to transform today's energy challenges into sustainable solutions for tomorrow, and make a difference for our planet and future generations.

Boralex has been providing renewable and affordable energy for over 30 years. The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage.

You have strong attention to detail, you are collaborative, and you have the ability to prioritise effectively. Moreover you would thrive working on complicated renewable energy projects, as well as working for a company with strong human values in the renewable energy field.

In this role you will primarily take a supporting position in managing the deployment phase of a complex onshore wind project. You will also assist with the development of predominately onshore wind and energy storage projects across the UK. You will be part of a vibrant development and deployment team with varied levels of experience within the renewable energy industry.

This is a unique opportunity for someone interested in making a tangible impact in the renewable energy sector, with a meaningful role towards the decarbonisation of the UK economy, as well as being part of a global organisation that is deeply committed towards becoming one of the UK’s most successful independent own-and-operate renewable energy developers.

You will play an important role in:

As part of the UK Development and Deployment team, you will report to the UK Development and Deployment Director while collaborating closely with colleagues in other Boralex specialist teams.

Whilst being involved with the development of Boralex’s ambitious onshore wind and battery storage UK portfolio, there will be particular emphasis over the first two years for you to assist with the deployment phase of a consented wind farm. For this specific project you will work directly with and report to the Project Director.

This role is crucial to the success of our development and deployment strategy and so requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic project management skills. As well as being involved with project community engagement events, you will be assisting with the management of multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.

Overall, your work will help ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and uphold Boralex’s exceptional standards for safety, sustainability, and quality.

The candidate’s responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting senior team members with the management of key Boralex projects;
  • Helping to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability;
  • Working independently on multiple complex renewable energy projects; and
  • Supporting the development of opportunities, which entails:
  • Initial analysis and due diligence of identified opportunities;
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial constraints;
  • Managing and communicating project progress towards task deadlines and identifying critical path challenges;
  • Overseeing consenting processes, environmental assessments, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring timely approvals;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with landowners and other stakeholders;
  • Developing and providing project status updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders;
  • Analysing tenders, participating in and coordinating the preparation of bids; and
  • Representing the company and projects at public information meetings.
To succeed in this position, you need:
  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in engineering, environmental science, business, or any other related field; and
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the renewable energy industry or other development industry.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to interpret information and recommend plans and tactics.
  • An understanding of health and safety responsibilities of developers and the implications of development activities on future construction and operation activities.
  • Excellent project management skills and proficient with Word and Excel.
  • An understanding of the technical, regulatory, and financial aspects of onshore wind projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • You should be passionate about renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
  • Good communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel as required to project sites and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ability to create a collaborative working environment and build strong relationships, trust and transparency.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary and multinational team.
  • This position will require occasional travel across the UK. Additional, but less frequent travel abroad, mainly France, will also be required.
