ABOUT THE ROLE

Swansea University’s Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science seeks an Associate Professor specializing in Clinical Pharmacy and/or Pharmacy Practice. This role involves spearheading MPharm curriculum development and delivery to ensure graduates are fully equipped for evolving clinical roles within the pharmacy sector. Applicants should ideally be GPhC-registered pharmacists, including those with independent prescriber annotation. However, individuals with relevant pharmacy experience, such as overseas-registered pharmacists, GPhC-registered pharmacy technicians, or non-pharmacists with substantial pharmacy experience, will also be considered.

The curriculum emphasizes inter-professional education, public and patient involvement, enhanced placement learning, and clinical skills. Applicants are encouraged to contribute to integrated teaching across various subject themes, including pharmacology and therapeutics, pharmaceutics, or pharmaceutical chemistry. Collaboration with the Practice of Pharmacy Teaching Group and active engagement with community stakeholders, placement partners, and patient and public volunteers are integral aspects of this role.
